About this manual
An independent reference for Escape from Playtime, written for people who are about to load into a lobby and want the rules before the first door rather than after the third wipe.
Official store header artwork, kept at its native 460x215 proportion
Where the facts come from
Three tiers of source, used for different jobs. Tier 1 is the developer and the storefront: the Steam appdetails API, the store description, and the official Steam announcements. Tier 2 is the Poppy Playtime wiki, used for the 1989 toy-line history and the eight character descriptions. Tier 3 is recorded creator gameplay, used only for texture, never for a number.
Every fact on this site traces back to a saved file captured on 2026-10-19, and every quoted line was read back out of that file rather than typed from memory. Where a video quote appears, the page also carries the original caption line behind a disclosure, so the rewrite can be checked against the transcript.
What this manual does not claim
- No quota numbers The Tribute quota is described as a mechanic, not a value. No official number has been published, and a beta snapshot would be wrong by launch.
- No named starter zone Early Access ships with one, but no source names it, so the four facility pages describe section types instead.
- No local co-op Nothing in the official copy claims split-screen. The site says online co-op because that is what the store lists.
- Eight, not four The wiki synopsis still says 1-4 players while the store says 1-7 friends, 8 total. The store wins, and the conflict is logged in the research record.
Assets
Every image is an official Steam store asset or a Fandom-hosted character cutout, downloaded and stored locally, with its real format checked by file header before renaming. No generated art is used anywhere on the site, and no image is loaded from an external CDN at runtime.
